I haven't been labbing BinkiMoe for awhile because she is an island poogle and very cute. So to avoid having her change to something less nice, I haven't been putting her under the ray.

Since last posting, both BinkiMoe and Ponsett have been through some changes. BinkiMoe was a purple kyrii but changed to a red koi and then to skunk koi:

She looked nice as a red koi, but I didn't care for the skunk look. Fortunately, she soon changed again, to a yellow lutari:

She looks good as a lutari. As for Ponsett, he is still a pteri, but became a ghost pteri then a checkered pteri. The checkered pteri is pretty ugly.

Right now, I have him wearing an eyrie mask, so he looks better than just checkered.

Update on BinkiMoe

BinkiMoe has been through a lot of changes since my last post.

After she turned snot I use turnip tonic on her which changed her to yellow. I refuse to have a snot pet.

She looks nice as a purple kyrii. Purple pets no longer have orange spots so the above image is not how she really looks.

Ponsett is still a Christmas pteri.

Ponsett's Many Morphs

It's been awhile since I last posted about Ponsett. He has gone thru several changes since he was a green kiko, namely blue usul, grey usul, red pteri and now he is a christmas pteri.

As for BinkiMoe, the lab ray had dropped her level down to 72 and I am in the process of training her back up to 79. It is costing me lots of neopoints which I don't like. She has had only one change in appearance, from a silver mynci to a rainbow one.

I should have known. BinkiMoe changed into a pet I really like, gnorbu. So of course she wouldn't stay that way! *sigh* She's a mynci now. A green mynci. I suppose she will be stuck that way for weeks. The good changes never last for long. The bad changes last for weeks and weeks (at least that's how it seems).

As for Ponsett, she is no longer strawberry, she has changed back to ordinary green kiko.

Some of her stats have improved in the weeks I have been labbing her. Agility is at 40, strength at 40 & hit points at 119. But defense is only at 10 (she started at 6) and level is only a 3.

Neopets is supposed to have the Pound back in operation soon. I should probably do some training on Ponsett before sending her off to be adopted. At least get her level up to 20 or so. Make her more adoptable that way.

BinkiMoe just got zapped into a red gnorbu. Yay!

This is super! It is what I want her to be. Probably not red though. But definitely gnorbu.
She started out as a wocky. I really liked her that way. But when Neopets redrew the pets when they became customizable, they made the wocky's eyes icky looking. They used to have slanty, sharp eyes. Now they are rounded and ugly. So I changed BinkiMoe to a blue gnorbu. Gnorbus were a fairly new pet then and I really thought they were cute. So I am very pleased that BinkiMoe is a gnorbu again. I just hope she stays that way for a while and that she doesn't turn mutant. Yikes! Mutant gnorbus are the most disgusting looking pets!

Ponsett didn't get to stay a bruce for long. Now she is a green kiko.

I'm not too happy with the lab ray's effect on BinkiMoe lately. She seems to have reached the doldrums. Her stats go up and down with the net result of no change at all. This has been going on for weeks. I really could use some good increases of her stats now as she is finding it hard to battle the tough, strong opponents introduced by the new Neopets plot, "The Return of Dr. Sloth."

First Ponsett turned gray (or as Neopets calls it, grey) then BinkiMoe turned shadow. It's weird how similar things kept happening to them!

Here lately, the BinkiMoe and Ponsett are getting similar results from the lab ray. Friday it lowered both their levels by two and today it raised both their agility by two points.

I found out that the green uni morphing potion is one of the cheapest morphing potions, about 10500 Neopoints. After visiting the lab ray today, and BinkiMoe stayed a buzz. So I bought a green uni morphing potion so now she is a green uni.

Which is OK. Better than a buzz anyway!

Well, its been weeks since my two lab pets have had a species change. BinkiMoe is still an usul, which is fine, and Ponsett is still a mutant gnorbu, which is not fine. I am so sick of him looking like that. And because he is a mutant gnorbu, none of the wearable items that Neopets has been releasing since they made pets customizable will work on him. About the only thing Ponsett can "wear" is backgrounds. *sigh*
Anyway, I just thought I would post their stats, since that is all that has been changing these past weeks since I last posted.
BinkiMoe is at level 86, agility 47, strength 108, defense 44, and hit points 185. Ponsett is at level 1, agility 21, strength 14, defense 8, hit points 57.

Oh no! Not another mutant gnorbu!

The lab ray turned Ponsett from a red gnorbu into a mutant gnorbu.

I already went through this once with BinkiMoe. She was an ordinary gnorbu until the lab ray got to her! She was so repulsive, I spent several thousand NP to treat her with a turnip tonic and change her back to an ordinary gnorbu.
But poor Ponsett is stuck as a mutant gnorbu. For one thing, turnip tonics have gotten more expensive now that other players are becoming aware of what it does and so demand has increased. And since Ponsett is on my side account, I only have to see her briefly, when I step over to that account to treat her to the lab ray.
So here is a warning to all those who have a gnorbu they want to take to the lab ray: don't be surprised if the ray turns your gnorbu into a smelly, fly-ridden, drooling, bald, mutant mess! Yike!
As for BinkiMoe, the lab ray just changed her color, from blue to yellow:

She's been a yellow usul before. You can't see it in the above image, but I changed her ribbons and ear bands to the pale blue one she wore when she was a striped usul and with the pale blue sketch background I got for her, she looks swell! I wish I could show you, but I am too lazy to save the image to photobucket and go through the rigamarole necessary to get it on here. Maybe I will do so one of these days. (Probably not! Ha!)

I don't know what the deal is with the Lab Ray, but neither of my lab pets have changed in appearance since the last time I posted. It's been almost a month and their stats have changed, but not their looks.
The customization is fun, but it is a pain in the neck trying to figure out which items are wearable by your pets. It would be nice if, when you click on the item in your inventory, the description would also indicate which species can wear the item. I spent 3000 NP on a cute t-shirt for my pets only to find that none of them could wear it which bummed me out. I put it in my shop but I don't expect to make much NP on it. I really wish one of my pets could have worn it, I really like it. But I guess it is only wearable by grundos. Eh.

Turnip Potion to the Rescue

I really didn't like the way BinkiMoe looked as a chocolate usul so I treated her with a turnip potion which changed her to blue:

Looks much better. Turnip potions are increasing in price as more players discover what they can do. This time it cost 15,000 NP, an increase of about 5000 points. I hope the price stabilizes soon and that they don't get as expensive as paint brushes.
Ponsett suffered a species change again from chomby to red gnorbu. I like gnorbus but not the red ones so much.

But still it is better than being a chomby.

BinkiMoe Update

Since the last time I posted BinkiMoe has undergone several transformations, first from gnorbu to usul and then to various types of usuls.

She is cute as an usul and with Neopets new customization system, every time she changes the usul ribbons and hair bands stay in her closet. So now she is yellow and she is wearing the pale blue ribbon and bands she got as a striped usul and it looks very nice. I wish I knew the html necessary to show you how she looks now but I don't.
I still am planning to reverse her back to gnorbu when I get her stats up to where I want. Right now she has reached level 70 which is pretty good but still a long ways from 150.

How is BinkiMoe doing?

I found out about a fairly cheap item that will turn your pet one of the four basic colors, red, blue, green or yellow. It's called the turnip tonic and costs about 10000 Neopoints. Compared to a paint brush or morphing potion that is very reasonably priced. So I gave it to BinkiMoe and now she is a very nice looking yellow gnorbu. No more that hideous, smelly, drooling mutant gnorbu! I even bought a couple extra tonics in case the lab ray messes her up again.

Doesn't she look much better? Now I am waiting for the petpet ray to change her petpet from dung. Her stats so far are Level 55, Hit Points 106, Strength 80, Defense 46 & Agility 55. All her stats have increased by about 49 points, except for Defense which has dropped two points. Also, her level would have declined quite a bit except that each time the lab ray drops her level I take her to the training school and train her back up. Seems like that has been happening a lot.
But if I figure how much it would have cost to increase her stats 49 points in the training school, it would be about 750,000 Neopoints. So I guess the occasional decline in points is acceptable even if it is very irking. It was especially irking today because yesterday when she finished training her level went up 3 points which only very rarely happens and today the lab ray knocked it back 2 points. Dang it!
As for Quiggie, she is holding steady as a red aisha, which she really likes.

Basharra and Electrozoid off to pound

Neopets pound is still not open to adoptions yet. You can drop off a pet but no one can adopt. This has been the case for weeks and no word of when that will change. I had been using the lab ray to morph pets into more attractive versions and then put them in the pound for adoption. But since the pound is closed and since BinkiMoe is facing a strong opponent in her Defenders of Neopia, I have been using the ray on her to build up her stats. The unfortunate side effect is unwanted changes in her appearance. I prefer her to remain a blue gnorbu but that is impossible as long as I continue to ray her. Since the last post, she has changed to a fire gnorbu and her latest change is to mutant, "sigh."

When her stats reach the level I want, I will treat her with a Blue Gnorbu Morphing Potion which I have stashed in my Neopets bank vault. So hang on, baby, you'll be cute again some day!
My tonu is sporting a new look too: island!

This is not from the lab ray but from the Fountain Faerie. I finally, after all these years of playing Neopets, got a Fountain Faerie Quest. She wanted a "Sword of the Dead," which cost about 100,000 Neopoints. That's a lot but it's much cheaper than buying a Paint Brush. The Island Paint Brush costs about 3 million Neopoints, so the quest was a bargain.
Finally, in trying to improve BinkiMoe's stats, I have been doing Kitchen Quests. Kitchen Quests can result in improved stats. Unfortunately, you have no control over which pet gets the boost and too many of the boosts were going to my other pets and not to BinkiMoe. So I decided to place Basharra and Eletrozoid in the pound. This improves the odds for BinkiMoe, now she only has Harriet to compete with for boosts.
Basharra was a wocky before I put her in the lab ray. I always intended putting Basharra up for adoption eventually. I adopted Electrozoid from the pound, he was an ordinary buzz that became Darigan after being rayed at which point I stopped raying him. I got him because I wanted to get the "split" avatar. That was years ago. All these years I kept him hoping for the fabled Fountain Faerie Quest. At last, I finally got it and I decided it would be foolish to waste the quest painting Electrozoid when he was already an excellent color. I had been wanting to spruce up Harriet but didn't want to spend all those points to do so. It made more sense to paint Harriet and to forget about the avatar. Maybe someday, years from now, I will get another Fountain Faerie Quest and I can consider going for the avatar then. Maybe or maybe not!
Quiggie has been rayed daily and so far is sticking with the red aisha form.
Quiggie's current stats: Level 1, Hit Points 82, Strength 51, Defense 6 & Agility 45. BinkiMoe's current stats: Level 55, Hit Points 106, Strength 78, Defense 43 & Agility 55. The lab ray has reduced her defense stats and it also reduced her level but I trained her back up to 55. I will also have to train her defense level up eventually but I'm not going to worry about that right now.

Quiggie Update & BinkiMoe Goes to the Lab

Her stats are now Level 1, Hit Points 79, Strength 45, Defense 8, Agility 45. Not very evenly distributed and level and defense keep declining.

I've been doing Defenders of Neopia I and my next scheduled opponent is the Meerca Henchmen. BinkiMoe is my battle pet and she is too low to take on these guys according to what I have read. So now poor BinkiMoe is undergoing a stint in the Lab Ray. The guides I have read say that a pet needs to be at Level 50 with 150 Hit Points, 85+ Strength & 55 Defense. Right now she is at Level 47 with 83 Hit Points, 62 Strength & 48 Defense. So she needs some improvement. One of the easiest ways to increase Hit Points is by using the Lab Ray. It is not so good for the other stats so she will also need some training.
I want to keep her a blue gnorbu so I have obtained a Blue Gnorbu Morphing Potion to use on her after her time under the Lab Ray is over. Her first major change under the ray was to ghost:

I have also heard that doing Kitchen Quests can increase your pets stats so I have been doing those too. I have done about 6 but no stat change. I have spent a lot of points but I've broken even so far.
UPDATE: After having done several Kitchen Quests, BinkiMoe's new stats are Level 51 (all Level increases are from training not quest), Hit Points 84, Strength 69, Defense 49 & Agility 56. I have spent about 95000 NP and received four stat boosts, two of which went to BinkiMoe and two to Harriet. It doesn't seem to make any difference as to which pet is the active pet and where the points end up.

What an improvement! Of course, it probably won't last. I will continue to ray Quiggie because I want to see how it will affect Quiggie's stats. Her stats are now Level 3, Strength 45, Agility 46, Hit Points 69, and Defense 10. The Level & Defense stats are not very good but hopefully will improve with time.

Neopets Gender

At times, I may refer to a Neopet as him only to call the same pet her later. This is because the lab ray can change the pets gender. So one day the pet is male and the next female. It's a pain in the neck, mostly. Although, since Neopets has switched to the new format, female Neopets have noticeably longer eyelashes than male pets. Other wise there is no difference between genders, as far as I know, except for Royal Neopets.

Basharra & Quiggie change for the worse

Basharra, the first time exposed to the ray, changed to a robot wocky:

I didn't care for the robot look. With their new format, Neopets lets you take off the robot casing to see the wiring underneath. Creepy, really creepy. Plus, if you ray the robot and it changes to another type pet, you keep the robot casing in your closet and can use on another pet of the same type, in my case wocky. But so what? I don't like the robot look.

So, after raying Basharra today, she changed to a blue zafara:

Poor Quiggie lost his good poogle looks too and is now a hideous kiko:

His latest stats are: Hit Points 56, Strength 45, Defense 11, and Agility 46.
So now Quiggie is an ugly, floating, disembodied head...Poor fellow!

Now I Have A New Pet

So I wanted to check to see if the pound was operational again. I went there and everything looked the same. There were no signs declaring that it was not functioning properly. I decided to go ahead and put BigMamaScarlet up for adoption. I had noticed that one of my former adoptees, Skixs, a fire grarrl, was back in the pound and I wanted to get him out and put BigMamaScarlet in instead. So I was able to put BigMamaScarlet in the pound. But when I went to adopt, that section was under repair. So now both BigMamaScarlet & Skixs are both stuck in the pound until it is fixed. Who know how long that will be?
Since I couldn't adopt a pet and I don't want to subject my other pets to the uncertainty of the lab ray, I created a new pet, a yellow wocky:

Her name is Basharra.
I noticed once I had her in my possession, that Neopets has changed the way the eyes look on wockies. Too bad, I liked their pointy eyes. Now the eyes are more rounded and I think they look kind of awkward. You can't see the difference in this image because this is the old image. I don't know how to get the new images of the Neopets since the conversion to the new layout.

BigMamaScarlet Turns Fire

Her stats are now Level 6, hit points 25, strength 30, defense 12, and agility 17 and she has changed to fire.

Normally, I would put her up for adoption now that she is fire. But Neopets has shut down the adoption center because of the changes they have done, making the Neopets customizable now. They say it is not shut down for good. Until then, I will continue to ray BigMamaScarlet.

Quiggie Goes Poogle

I have been treating Quiggie to the lab ray daily and she has suffered for it. Her stats have not improved much and her level has dropped from 11 to 3, her hit points from 16 to 14. Strength went up from 18 to 25, Defense from 11 to 13 and Agility from 18 to 22. Not impressive at all. And Quiggie is still a red quiggle. Very disappointing so far. Seems to be proving me right, that the lab ray takes more than it gives.

It cost a lot, about 700,000 NP! I am thinking I will not use it to improve abandoned pets to make them more appealing for adoption. Instead I am going to use it on Quiggie. According to Neopets, the lab gives more than it takes away & I want to know if that is true. Quiggie stats: Level 11; Strength 18; Defense 11; Agility 18; & Hit Points 16. Right now, Quiggie is a red Quiggle.

Tianakki became a camouflage kougra and I placed her in the pound and she was adopted by fastlike_jello.

My new lab pet is a blue grarrl named Daezyron that I adopted from the pound.

I have decided to stick to skeiths & grarrls if I can when adopting. They will eat anything so I can feed them all the worthless junk that accumulates when playing Neopets. But mainly I am looking for abandoned pets with decent names. I want names that start with a capital, are pronounceable, aren't long or jammed together and NO numbers! I don't care for names with numbers. Quiggie's name has numbers and I wish it didn't. I think pets with good names are more likely to be adopted than ones with crappy names.
Lofinet72114 was in the pound for a week but he was finally adopted by dilldog94. I hope dilldog treats him nicely. I still feel for my adoptees who have ended up stuck in frozen accounts like poor Dizzy.

Poor Dizzy can't seem to catch a break! In and out of the pound & he finally turns into something interesting, a cybunny, and now what? Frozen! The person who adopted Dziobasek_k, sxfia, has had their account frozen! Dizzy has disappeared forever, I assume, into the icy wasteland of frozen accounts. All that time and effort for nothing! Ah, well.

Skixs finally changed to something decent. He did turn purple, which is not that special.

Finally, the lab turned Dziobasek_k into something appealing: a blue cybunny.

Cybunnies are rare, limited edition pets. So I was pretty sure he would get adopted. Which he did, by sxfia.

I got a new pet from the pound, Dark__Shoyru.

I zapped him and he turned starry:

I was glad to see he turned starry because I was a little concerned about him changing species. With a name like Dark__Shoyru he should be a shoyru. He was adopted by neo258952.

Her name is Uniphina & she had neomonia when I got her. Put one trip to the healing springs & she was fine! Although unhappy and hungry. But I took care of her and after a few trips to the lab, she changed into split:

So I placed Uniphina in the pound and she was adopted by sweetcowco_93. I then checked to see where Dizzy was and I was not happy to see her still in the pound. So I adopted her again. I will continue to ray her as apparently sketch is not a good color.

Even though Dziobasek_k was an island kyrii, after being adopted briefly she was sent back to the pound and stayed there several days. So I adopted her again and will not send her back till she changes species. I guess kyriis are just not popular. Today, after raying her she changed to a blue lutari.

Problem solved, right? Wrong! A lutari can't be put in the pound. If you try, it will run away and disappear forever. Looks like I will have to keep raying her.

Poor Dziobasek_k has been abandoned by her new owner. She is pounded once again. I will adopt her if she is still in the pound after I get Leadplant adopted.

Anyways, Mesa_Verde got rayed and changed to a green koi.

She was adopted by super_kawaii809. I sort of wanted to hang on to her because kois are a rare pet. But I let her go after all. I then got Leadplant, the last neopet from my account I closed today. Leadplant was a blue chia.

But when I rayed him he changed into a Christmas chia.

He will go up for adoption tomorrow or sometime in the next few days.

I adopted Dziobasek_k a while ago. I put her through the lab ray and she changed into skunk. I then placed her in the pound. After a week, she was still there. So I adopted her to one of my side accounts. I have now decided to close that account and put my pets up for adoption. If they are not quickly adopted, I will adopt them myself and put them through the lab ray process, hoping to make them more appealing to anyone looking to adopt a new neopet.

The first pet I placed in the pound was Dziobasek_k. Just like last time, she was not quickly adopted. So I took her out of the pound on my regular account. Even though she has already been changed into a special color, apparently it is not a popular color. So she will once again become my lab rat. This is Dziobasek_k in her skunk incarnation:

I did have a good streak going with the lab ray but no more. Kaupatoma's stats have been messed about with, not for the better over all and he/she has changed gender a few times. I can't remember which she is now. And she was changed into a blue moehog, big whoop.

But I will keep whacking away at it.

From Xweetok to Shoyru to Kau

The little xweetok, Blueprettygal, changed to ice when rayed.

She was adopted and I got a new pet, a shoyru named Amamarillo.

I rayed him and he changed to a red jetsam.

Red is not a fancy color but jetsams are more rare than most neopets. So I went ahead and placed in the pound and he was immediately adopted. I then got a kau, Kaupatoma.

The lab ray has been working pretty good lately. Usually it just messes with the lab rat's stats or changes its sex. I hope this good streak continues. I've been able to take a lot of ordinary pets and make them something special and place them to be adopted.

Got Me a Xweetok

I adopted a new pet, a nimmo named Mcbadzors..

Mcbadzors changed to starry after treating him with the lab ray.

I pounded him and he was adopted within a few seconds. Today I adopted Blueprettygal, my first Xweetok.

She fits right in with the bluish color scheme. She will go under the ray tomorrow.

Purple Wisawak is Gone

Even though she is purple, Wisawak was quickly adopted when I put her back in the pound. I then adopted a green usul, Mandymoon.

After treating her to the lab ray, Mandymoon turned electric.

So Mandymoon is ready to be put back in the pound tomorrow. I'm sure she will be very quickly snapped up!

Ren_Ash Went Quickly

I when I put Ren_Ash in the pound she was adopted within a few seconds. I got a new lab rat, Wisawak.

After treating Wisawak to the lab ray she turned purple.

I am going to put Wisawak in the pound tomorrow and see if she is adopted. She might not be because purple is not a real popular color. If she isn't adopted I will take her back and continue to treat her with the lab ray until she changes to something with more appeal.

All my pets now are either blue or purple in hue and they look good together.

BinkiMoe Will No Longer Be Tortured by the Lab Ray

After losing another two levels to the lab ray I decided to stop experimenting on BinkiMoe. I never get any changes I like and BinkiMoe has been losing levels and defense points. Plus I can't stand her as a Nimmo! So today I morphed her using a potion into a blue gnorbu. Gnorbus are cute!

Her sex is set to male though.

I also gave Gemmy_gem40 up for adoption because I wanted to get a new lab ray pet. Gemmy was quickly adopted and I got JarJarcod to replace her.

I hated to let Gemmy go because she is so pretty. But I never liked her name. I don't like names with numbers in them.

I keep hoping for something better, as I have been dissatisfied ever since BinkiMoe became a Disco moehog. I just don't like any of the changes in her appearance so far.

Lost my Disco Moehog

I haven't been using the lab ray much lately. I was satisfied with the changes to Electroziod and Gemmy_gem. Used it occasionally on BinkiMoe, but mostly to negative effect. But today I zapped BinkiMoe and she was changed to a red yurble.

BinkiMoe started out as a yellow female wocky. I didn't really like the change to Disco moehog, I thought it was goofy looking. But red yurble isn't any better. I don't like those odd looking horns and the big, black toenails. Guess I will continue zapping her till something better turns up. She will always be a she to me no matter what sex the ray assigns her.
The Bink-A-Rama Card Shop is still in business, but with some modifications. It is now a Light Faerie quest shop. You can buy your collectable virtual cards there but at higher prices than before. This way I can still maintain the shop without putting in all the hours I had to previously. I just found that it was too time consuming to maintain the same level of sales every day. Now I can spend more time exploring other areas on Neopets, such as the Stock Market. I am just now starting to invest in it. Hopefully it will eventually generate a nice income without the time consuming qualities of shopkeeping.
I still haven't decided to put Gemmy_gem back up for adoption. She is the best looking pet I have. My only problem with her is her dumb name. I don't like names with numbers in them.
I should also put Electrozoid back in the pound too. Maybe I will after I get something I like with BinkiMoe.

Not Too Cute

So after 20 some days of using the lab ray on Gemmy_Gem, finally got her color changed. She started out at level 12, but is now only level 3. The lab ray was very cruel to her. But now she is spotted and it looks like she has some nasty skin disease. Not a good change.

Her pet pet has had a hard time too. First the ray increased it to level 5 then zapped it into oblivion. I had to get her a new pet pet, which was promptly incinerated into a pile of soot.

Coltzan hates Gemmy_Gem too, I've only gotten one good stat from all the trips to Coltzan. Mostly he just ignores us. Are wockies unlucky, I wonder.

I'm not going to pound her yet. I want to get her stats back up to what they were. And she needs a different color than spotted. It's too ugly.

I am not pounding Electrozoid yet either. My husband is home on vacation and he is a bit of a computer hog. I want to give Electrozoid's previous owner, hughesss2, a chance to get him back, if he wants. So I need to wait till a time when I have more access to our computer.

Rejected Yet Again

So once again I submitted an image for the beauty contest, an altered image of my tonu, Harriet_Beauchamp. I kept the head and drew a body for her, using my mouse again on Paint, since I don't have a scanner with which to scan a handmade image. Anyway, here it is, such as it is:

It was also rejected. I expect it is some sort of technical problem which I will be unable to do anything about. So I guess this was my last beauty contest entry. Too bad, it was fun doing the images.

Beauty Contest Woes

I have submitted two images for entry in the Neopets beauty contest. The first, of Calde13 in a tux, they rejected. No real explanation why. The second never appeared in the contest even though I submitted it 3 days before the end date. Never received a rejection either. Can't figure out what I am doing wrong!

The one with the tux is a Neopets image that I altered, which is OK according to the beauty contest rules. The second one was drawn by me using my mouse, which is no easy task! It came out pretty good, considering.

I met a person on the Neopets boards who really liked the way Paravespula looks as a halloween uni, so I gave him to her, alice54101. She has two other unis, one pink and one Darigan, so Paravespula will fit in nicely. And I was ready to send him away, as those bones sticking out of his wings gave me the creeps. So I gave him up even though he is a very cool pet.

Then I adopted a new buzz from the pound, Electrozoid.

He is my new lab rat.

On a side note, not Neopets related, these past two weeks have been vile. Early Monday morning, November 28, our electric went out, due to a massive ice storm. Last I heard, more than 9000 electric poles fell because of the heavy load of ice (about one inch) and winds in the 30 to 40 mph range after the sleet changed to snow. So first we had rain, which became sleet and ice, then changing to snow and strong winds which became a blizzard. Which was followed a few days later by more snow, about 6 to 8 inches. Also very cold temps, in the teens and below zero. So we had no electricity all week. The power companies had to bring in crews from surrounding states to help with all the repairs. Our power came back on Sunday afternoon. Boy, it was getting cold in here! We have a wood stove and were able to keep the downstairs at about 60 but the upstairs it was barely 50. Keeping the wood stove stoked was a chore. We had enough wood for about 3 days, so we had to go out and cut more.
Speaking of wood, the storm really butchered our trees. We have 3 really nice poplars lining our drive. Well, they aren't nice any more! One tree only has 6 limbs left. The other two are almost as bad. And many limbs down and trees also everywhere. Fortunately, no large trees fell across our driveway, only limbs small enough to just toss aside.
Anyway, once the electric came back on, we tried to go on the internet, only our ISP was not responding. We figured that they were still without power. But no! They decided it would be cheaper to just go out of business than to deal with the storm damage. Naturally, they couldn't be bothered to inform their customers of this decision. Just let us figure it out on our own! Fortunately, we were able to find another ISP.
So our electric company says the repairs are just temporary and to do what we can to reduce the load to prevent more outages. So I have set the thermostat to 60 at night and 65 during the day. It is really too chilly for comfort, I prefer it in the low 70s. They say they won't be able to make permanent repairs until spring most likely. My bed is so cold to climb in at night, I went out and bought myself an electric blanket. Toasty!
